Tools for Textiles provides informational convenience tools. Outputs can contain errors and depend entirely on the inputs, formulas, assumptions, rounding, and browser environment. The tools do not inspect your fabric, pattern, marker, machine, process, supplier data, or applicable standard.
Verify important results
Independently verify any result that may affect purchasing, cutting, costing, logistics, fit, quality, safety, compliance, or customer commitments. Use representative material tests, physical samples, production markers, calibrated measurements, supplier confirmation, and qualified professional judgment as appropriate.
Tool-specific risks
- Yardage, width, repeat, marker, seams, and fullness: shaped pieces, orientation, nap, repeat matching, splices, selvage, defects, hems, joins, and cutting constraints can materially change consumption.
- GSM and roll calculations: moisture, coatings, conditioning, core weight, width variation, and material tolerance can change measured weight or length.
- Shrinkage: test method, lot, laundering, finishing, relaxation, skew, and bow can produce results that differ from a simple percentage model.
- Thread consumption: stitch density, tension, seam thickness, bite width, machine setup, tails, breaks, and separate thread paths can change actual use.
